Youth and politics – a contradiction? Not at all! Young people are interested in politics also – if it’s fun. Arbeit und Leben is providing experience-oriented political education guided by young people’s desire for action and change.
It’s the objective of our programme to get young persons interested in political, social and cultural issues. We want to encourage them to participate, to contribute and we want to provide a platform to develop and state their own opinions.
Arbeit und Leben is realising seminars and projects in co-operation with open, vocational and educational institutions and is also organising free seminars. We are developing adequate concepts fine-tuned to the interests and requirements of young people.
Depending on interests events can last a few days, a weekend, one week or occasionally even longer. Seminars are taking place in Hamburg or other locations and are being held by experienced trainers. Events are open to young people 14-25 years of age. Costs depend on the event’s location and duration and are – as well as the dates – open to discussion with us.
We are organising workshops for trainees as well as weekend seminars for youth theatre groups. There are video seminars for young people from urban district based institutions, project weeks on gender issues and seminars dealing with the working world.
By the way: If you’ve got an idea for a seminar, talk to us. We are looking forward to your proposals and to developing new projects!
We are also organising individually scheduled qualification for teachers and pedagogues in schools, organisations and institutions of open youth work, for instance:
- How to include gender into youth work? Theoretical and practical impulses for quality and gender equality
- Just going off? About the complexity of things: violence prevention, political education and inter-sectionality
- The return of Anti-Judaism in the 21st century. New anti-Semitism, conspiracy theories and hatred for Israel
and many more.
